Chasing Sunrise at Little Adam’s Peak 🌄

Ella Little Adams Peak sun-rise
I still remember that morning in Ella. My alarm went off at 4:30 am, and for a moment I questioned my life choices. But as I started the short hike up Little Adam’s Peak with a tiny torch in hand, the cool mist wrapping around me, I felt the excitement bubbling.

The trail wasn’t tough, just a steady climb, and I passed a couple of friendly dogs who decided to guide me like seasoned locals. By the time I reached the top, the sky was still dark, painted in shades of navy and purple. I sat there, sipping the tea I had carried in a flask, listening to the silence of the hills.

And then it happened. The sun peeked over the distant mountains, throwing gold and pink across the valley. Clouds danced around the tea plantations below, and suddenly Ella looked like a dreamland floating in the sky.

That view, that moment… it wasn’t just about a sunrise. It felt like the island whispering its secrets to me. I had seen pictures before, but nothing compared to standing there, wind in my hair, feeling like I was part of something timeless.

Sri Lanka has many treasures, but that morning at Little Adam’s Peak will always be etched in my heart. 🌿✨
